Set up a Check-in question to push answers to Slack

When you create a Check-in question with Slack sharing enabled, submitted answers push automatically to a designated Slack channel as employees complete their Check-ins.

Before You Begin

  • The 15Five app for Slack must be enabled. See Enable the 15Five app for Slack.
  • You must have a default Slack channel configured in the Slack Setup tab, or know the specific channel name you want to target.
  • The 15Five app must be added to the destination Slack channel. In Slack, type @15five in that channel and select the 15Five app to add it.

Steps

  1. Click Check-ins in the left-hand navigation.
  2. Click the Manage questions tab.
  3. Click Create a new question.
  4. Complete the question fields as required.
  5. Check the box next to Share answers on Slack.
  6. Enter the public Slack channel name where submitted answers should appear.
  7. Leave the channel field blank to use the default channel set in the Slack Setup tab.
  8. Save the question.

If Something Goes Wrong

No channel was specified and answers are not appearing Confirm a default channel is set in the Slack Setup tab Go to Settings > Integrations > Manage (Slack) > Setup tab and set a default channel
The Share answers on Slack checkbox is not visible Confirm the Slack integration is enabled Go to Settings > Integrations and verify Slack shows Manage, not Enable
