Use the Objective Types tab to control which objective types are available in your organization and who can create them. Changes take effect immediately after you save.
Before You Begin
- You must be an Account Admin.
- The Objectives feature must be enabled. See Objectives settings overview (Admin).
Steps
- Click the Settings gear in the bottom-left corner of your 15Five account.
- Select Features from the dropdown menu.
- Click Objectives.
- Click the Objective Types tab.
- Locate the objective type you want to configure: Individual, Company-wide, or Group.
- Toggle the objective type On to enable it or Off to disable it.
- Repeat step 6 for each additional objective type you want to enable or disable.
- Under each enabled objective type, locate the Who can create this type? setting.
- Select Everyone to allow all users to create that objective type.
- Select Custom to restrict creation to specific roles, groups, or individuals.
- If you selected Custom, use the search field to add the roles, groups, or individuals.
- Repeat steps 8–11 for each enabled objective type.
- Click Save.
If Something Goes Wrong
| Issue | Check | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Objective Types tab is not visible | Confirm you are on the Objectives settings page, not a sub-page | Navigate to Settings > Features > Objectives, then click Objective Types |
| Toggle change did not persist after saving | Verify you clicked Save before navigating away | Return to the tab, re-apply the toggle change, and click Save |
| Custom permission search returns no results | Confirm the role, group, or individual exists in 15Five | Create or verify the group/user in Settings before returning to this tab |
| Users can still create a disabled objective type | Check if the type was disabled after their current session started | Ask affected users to log out and back in to refresh permissions |
