Tags let you organize objectives around shared themes — such as company initiatives, KPIs, or priority levels — independent of team hierarchy. Enabling tags adds a Tags tab to Objectives settings where you create and manage all available tag values.
Before You Begin
- You must be an Account admin.
- The Objectives feature must be active in your account.
- The Tags tab only appears after you enable the Objectives tags toggle in the Settings tab.
Enable Objectives tags
- Click the Settings gear in the bottom-left corner of your 15Five account.
- Select Features from the dropdown menu.
- Click Objectives.
- Click the Settings tab.
- Locate the Objectives tags section.
- Toggle Objectives tags to On.
- Click Save.
The Tags tab now appears in the Objectives settings navigation.
Create a tag
- Click the Settings gear in the bottom-left corner of your 15Five account.
- Select Features from the dropdown menu.
- Click Objectives.
- Click the Tags tab.
- Click Create new tag (or the equivalent add button).
- Enter a tag name in the text field.
- Click Save.
The tag is now available for users to apply when viewing or editing any objective they have permission to access.
Rename a tag
- Navigate to Settings > Features > Objectives > Tags.
- Locate the tag you want to rename.
- Click Rename to the right of the tag name.
- Enter the new name.
- Click Save.
Objectives already using the old name update to the new name automatically.
Archive a tag
- Navigate to Settings > Features > Objectives > Tags.
- Locate the tag you want to archive.
- Click Archive to the right of the tag name.
Objectives already using the archived tag retain it, but the archived tag is no longer available when creating or editing new objectives.
Unarchive a tag
- Navigate to Settings > Features > Objectives > Tags.
- Check the Show archived tags checkbox.
- Locate the archived tag (labeled Archived).
- Click Unarchive.
The tag is immediately available again when creating or editing an objective.
Delete a tag
- Navigate to Settings > Features > Objectives > Tags.
- Locate the tag you want to remove.
- Click the Delete icon next to the tag.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
If Something Goes Wrong
| Issue | Check | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Tags tab does not appear | Confirm the Objectives tags toggle is On in the Settings tab | Enable the toggle and click Save, then reload the page |
| Tag not visible to users on objectives | Confirm Objectives tags toggle is still enabled | Re-enable the toggle if it was turned off; previously created tags are retained |
| Cannot save a new tag | Check for duplicate tag names | Rename the tag — each tag name must be unique |
| Archived tag does not appear in the tags list | Confirm the Show archived tags checkbox is checked | Check the Show archived tags checkbox on the Tags page |
| Save button does not respond | Check for unsaved changes in another tab section | Complete or discard other changes, then retry |
