Deactivate a user account

Admins and managers use this article to deactivate a single user account in 15Five. When complete, the user's account appears on the Deactivated tab in Manage People and the user loses access to 15Five.

Important: If your organization uses SCIM or an HRIS integration to manage 15Five membership, you must remove employees via SCIM or your HRIS — not from within 15Five. Manual deactivation in this case may be reversed during the next sync. Check Admin > Integrations to confirm whether an active integration exists.

Before You Begin

Steps

  1. Go to People in the left-hand navigation.
  2. Use the search bar or filters to find the user.
  3. Click the user's name to open their account settings.
  4. Click Deactivate [Name]'s account in the top-right corner.
  5. Select a reason for deactivation from the dropdown.

> Note: Selecting a deactivation reason populates turnover data in the HR Outcomes Dashboard.

  1. Click Deactivate account.
  2. If the user is a manager, select a person to take over management of their direct reports.
  3. Confirm the user now appears on the Deactivated tab in Manage People.

If Something Goes Wrong

Issue Check Fix

The user is reactivated after manual deactivation Check Admin > Integrations for an active SCIM or HRIS integration Remove the user via your HRIS or SCIM provider instead of from within 15Five
The deactivation reason dropdown is missing Confirm the user's account is not already deactivated Navigate to the Deactivated tab to verify current status
The user still appears in the active user list after deactivation Refresh the page If the user still appears, contact 15Five Support
