Editing an existing Check-in question updates it immediately for future Check-ins. Edited questions lose all historical reporting data tied to the original question text.
Before You Begin
Editing a question permanently breaks its reporting history. Answers submitted before the edit will no longer appear in Check-in Reporting for that question. If you need to preserve historical data, create a new question instead of editing the existing one.
You must have access to Check-ins and the Manage Questions page. Account admins can edit any question. Group admins can edit questions for their group members. Managers can edit questions for anyone in their hierarchy.
Steps
- Click Check-ins in the left-hand navigation bar.
- Select the Manage Questions tab.
- Click ... next to the question you want to edit.
- Select Edit question from the dropdown menu.
- Make your changes in the editing form, then click Save changes.
If Something Goes Wrong
| Issue | Check | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| ... menu does not appear | Confirm you have permission to edit this question | Log in as an account admin, or ask one to make the edit |
| Changes do not save | Confirm all required fields are filled in | Complete any highlighted required fields, then click Save changes again |
| Edited question still shows old text on active Check-ins | Check whether the Check-in period is already open | The updated text appears on the next unsubmitted Check-in load; submitted Check-ins retain the old text |
