Share a Check-in answer via email

Use this article to send a Check-in answer or comment to any email address directly from 15Five. The recipient receives a one-time email containing the question, answer, and optionally the comments — no 15Five account required.

Before You Begin

  • You must have access to Check-ins in your 15Five account.
  • You can only share answers from Check-ins you have permission to view.
  • To share an answer with your direct manager, use the Pass it Up option instead. See Pass up a Check-in answer to your manager for instructions.

Steps

  1. Click Check-ins in the left navigation.
  2. Click View Check-in next to the Check-in you want to open.
  3. Click the ... icon to the right of the answer or comment you want to share.
  4. Select Share by email from the dropdown menu.
  5. Enter one or more recipient email addresses in the To field.
  6. Check Include answer comments if you want the email to include comments on that answer.
  7. Click Send.

What Success Looks Like

A confirmation notification appears on screen immediately after clicking Send. The recipient receives an email containing the question text, the answer, and comments if you selected that option.

Key Rules

  • The person whose answer you share is not notified that their answer was shared.
  • If a recipient does not have permission to view the full Check-in, they receive only the shared question, answer, and comments (if included). They do not gain access to the rest of the Check-in.

If Something Goes Wrong

Issue Check Fix
Confirmation notification does not appear after clicking Send Confirm the To field contains at least one valid email address Remove any invalid addresses, re-enter a valid address, and click Send again
Recipient reports they did not receive the email Confirm the address entered matches the recipient's inbox address exactly Ask the recipient to check their spam folder; resend to the correct address if a typo occurred
