Admins can cap the number of billed users in a 15Five account using the Maximum number of people setting in Company settings. When saved, the limit takes effect immediately and prevents new users from being added once the cap is reached.
Note: This setting is critical if your organization uses SSO with just-in-time (JIT) provisioning enabled. JIT provisioning allows anyone in your organization to create a 15Five account by signing in via SSO. Without a cap, seat count can grow without admin action.
Before You Begin
- You must have Account Admin access to Company settings.
Steps
- Go to Settings > Company settings.
- Click Company details to expand that section.
- Scroll to the Maximum number of people section.
- Select Limited.
- Enter the maximum number of seats allowed.
- Click Save.
After saving, the Maximum number of people field displays your entered limit. New users cannot be added once the current user count reaches that number.
If Something Goes Wrong
| Issue | Check | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The Limited option is not visible | Confirm you are in Company details, not another settings section | Scroll past the company name and logo fields — Maximum number of people appears lower in the section |
| Limit saved but new users can still be added | Check whether the current active user count already meets or exceeds the limit you entered | Deactivate unused accounts to bring active users below the cap, then re-save the limit. See Add a Termination Date in Manage People for deactivation steps. |
| Setting reverts after saving | Confirm you clicked Save before navigating away | Re-enter the limit and click Save before leaving the page |
