Set a start date when adding an employee via HRIS integration

Populating the start_date field in your HRIS and running a sync sets a future access date for employees in 15Five. The employee appears in 15Five after the sync but cannot log in until that date.

Before You Begin

  • Your HRIS must be connected to 15Five using the HRIS Connector.
  • You must have access to the Manage people page in 15Five.
  • The start_date field must be supported and editable in your HRIS.

Steps

  1. Open your HRIS and navigate to the employee's profile.
  2. Locate the start date field.
  3. Enter the date you want the employee to access 15Five.
  4. Save the change in your HRIS.
  5. Trigger a sync between your HRIS and 15Five.
  6. In 15Five, click the Settings gear in the bottom-left corner.
  7. Select People to open the Manage people page.
  8. Confirm the employee appears in the Inactive tab under Pending invitations or Created people.

If Something Goes Wrong

Issue Check Fix
Employee does not appear in 15Five after sync Confirm the sync completed without errors in the HRIS Connector log Re-run the sync; contact support if errors persist
Start date in 15Five does not match HRIS value Check whether the HRIS start_date field saved before the sync ran Update the field in your HRIS and run a new sync
Employee appears under Created people, not Pending invitations Invite email option was not enabled Follow the steps in the "Send an invitation to a created person" article
start_date field not available in your HRIS Confirm your integration uses the HRIS Connector, not a legacy connection Contact support to verify connector compatibility
