Connect Rippling to 15Five using HRIS Connector

Admins can use this article to connect Rippling to 15Five via the HRIS Connector. When setup is complete, employee data syncs automatically from Rippling into 15Five within 24 hours.

Before You Begin

Steps

Phase 1: select integration

  1. Click the Settings gear in the bottom-left corner of 15Five.
  2. Select HRIS Connector from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click the Rippling logo in the integrations list.
  4. Click through the modal until a new window opens.

Phase 2: Setup integration

  1. Login to Rippling in the pop-up window if needed.
  2. If you are not redirected, go to the 15Five app.
  3. Click Install.
  4. In the installer select "Yes, I'll install this integration" and Continue.
  5. Scroll to the bottom and click Authorize.
  6. Click Assign a group.
  7. Select or create a group that contains everyone in your company. Up to you if you want to include Contractors.
  8. Set Priority to 1 and click Assign.
  9. Click Continue after you've assigned the groups of users you want synced.
  10. Select when you want users to get access to 15Five and click Continue.
  11. Click Continue once more.

You are redirected to your 15Five account automatically. 

  1. A modal should show up, if not go back to the installer and try again.
  2. In the modal, click Next.
  3. Wait for the setup to complete and click Finish.

You should be automatically redirected back to Rippling installer.

All done! You can click Save and Exit and close the window or optionally click Continue to setup SSO

Confirmation: The HRIS Connector status for Rippling should be Connected. 15Five should begin an initial sync, come back to this later. You should be notified when it's completed.

(Optional) Phase 3: Setup SSO with rippling

  1. Click Continue with Single sign-on if you want to setup SSO.
  2. Select "Set up Single Sign On now" and click Continue.
  3. Follow the instructions on the page to setup SSO in 15Five. You can also this Help Center article.
  4. Don't forget to fill out the Subdomain field in the installer.
  5. Click Move to next Step once you've gone through all the instructions.
  6. Select if you'd like to enable Admin SSO. You can always change it later.
  7. Click Continue until you reach the SSO Eligibility step.
  8. Select "All assigned users" and click Continue.
  9. Done!

Testing SSO

  1. Go to your 15Five and sign out.
  2. Click Sign in using Single Sign-on and you should be redirected to Rippling.
  3. Sign into Rippling, this should redirect you back to 15Five's home page.
  4. If you do not get signed into 15Five, consult the troubleshooting table below or contact support.


 

If Something Goes Wrong

I got signed out while setting up SSO

Try to sign in with your email and password. You should be able to this if "Allow Password Sign In" was enabled while setting up SSO. 

Please contact support to regain access.

I clicked single sign on but Rippling gives me an error.

Check that you input the correct values in 15Five's SSO setting.

In Rippling check that you entered Subdomain in the SSO setup instructions step in the installer.

Also check the user you are signing in with is included in the Account provisioning step of the installer

Please contact support for help to see if your setup is correct.

No data syncs after 24 hours

Confirm the HRIS Connector status shows Connected in Settings > HRIS Connector
