Use this article to view, resolve, and take action on Check-in answers you have flagged for follow-up. When complete, flagged answers appear as Resolved in the Follow-ups tab and move to the Resolved tab.
Before You Begin
- You must have access to Check-ins in 15Five.
- This feature is available on the Perform, Legacy Focus, and Total Platform packages.
- You must have already flagged at least one Check-in answer. Flagging is done from the Check-in itself, not from the Follow-ups tab.
Steps
- Click Check-ins in the left-hand navigation.
- Click the Follow-ups tab at the top of the page.
> The Follow-ups tab is visible only to you. It displays all open (unresolved) answers you have flagged.
- Review the queue of flagged answers.
- When you have addressed an issue, click Resolve on that answer.
- To add context about the resolution, click the comment field on the answer and type your comment.
> Comments post directly to the Check-in of origin. See for details on public vs. private comments.
- To take additional action on an answer, click the ... menu to the right of the answer and select one of the following:
- Pass up — sends the answer to your manager for review - Add to 1-on-1 agenda — adds the answer to your agenda with the person who shared it - Add to wins & challenges — adds the answer to your wins & challenges section - Un-flag — removes the answer from your Follow-ups queue without resolving it - Share via email — sends the answer by email
What Success Looks Like
After clicking Resolve, the answer moves from the Follow-ups tab to the Resolved tab. The answer also displays as Resolved on the originating Check-in. If the answer remains in Follow-ups after clicking Resolve, refresh the page and check again.
If Something Goes Wrong
| Issue | Check | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Follow-ups tab is not visible | Confirm Check-ins access is enabled for your account | Contact your 15Five admin to verify Check-ins access is provisioned |
| Resolve button does not appear on an answer | Confirm the answer was flagged by you, not by another user | Only the person who flagged the answer can resolve it — ask the flagging user to resolve, or un-flag and re-flag from your account |
| Comment does not appear on the Check-in of origin | Confirm the Check-in still exists and has not been deleted | If the Check-in was deleted, the comment cannot be posted — resolve without commenting |
| ... menu options are missing or incomplete | Confirm you have the required role permissions for the action (e.g. 1-on-1 access) | Contact your 15Five admin to verify feature access for the relevant action |
Not Covered Here
This article does not cover how to flag a Check-in answer in the first place. Flagging is done from within the Check-in response view.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does comment privacy work on a flagged Check-in answer?
Direct Answer
Comments on flagged Check-in answers are public by default — anyone who can view that Check-in can see the comment.
Key Rules
- Public comments post directly to the Check-in of origin.
- To restrict a comment to your manager only, check the Private comment to... box before posting.
- After checking that box, select your manager's name from the dropdown menu.
- Only one manager can be selected as the private recipient per comment.
Common Misunderstanding
Marking a comment private does not hide it from the Check-in author — it limits visibility to you and the selected manager only. The employee who submitted the answer can still see the Check-in itself.
