Allow a direct report to edit their Check-in

Managers can approve a direct report's request to edit a submitted Check-in. When approved, the direct report receives a notification and can edit and resubmit their Check-in.

Before You Begin

  • You must have access to Check-ins. This feature is available on Perform, Legacy Focus, and Total Platform plans.
  • Your direct report must have already requested edit access — the Allow editing button only appears after a request is made.

Steps

When a direct report requests to edit a Check-in, you will receive both an email notification and an in-app notification. Each contains a link directly to the Check-in.

From an email or in-app notification:

  1. Open the email with subject line "[Name] wants to edit their Check-in" or the in-app notification.
  2. Click View Check-in in the notification.
  3. Click Allow editing on the right side of the Check-in.

From the Check-ins navigation:

  1. Go to Check-ins in the left-hand navigation.
  2. Click the Team's tab.
  3. Locate the direct report whose Check-in needs to be reopened.
  4. Click ... next to their Check-in.
  5. Select View Check-in from the dropdown menu.
  6. Click Allow editing on the right side of the Check-in.

What Resolution Looks Like

After you click Allow editing, your direct report receives both an email (subject: "A Check-in is now available for editing") and an in-app notification with a link to their Check-in. They can now edit and resubmit.
