The Talent Matrix is a 9-box grid inside a calibration session. Use it to view participant rating distributions and change ratings by dragging participants between boxes.
Before You Begin
- The manager review deadline for the cycle must have passed. Calibration sessions remain greyed out until then.
- You must have an open calibration session to work in. See Calibrations in performance reviews — overview for setup steps.
- You must be a Review admin, Cycle collaborator, or Contributor on the session.
Steps
- Click Reviews in the left-hand navigation.
- Click the name of your review cycle.
- Click the Calibrations tab at the top of the page.
- Click the name of the calibration session you want to work in.
- Locate the Talent Matrix on the calibration session page.
- Review the grid. Each box represents a combination of answers across two rated questions.
- Find the participant avatar you want to reassign.
- Drag the avatar from its current box and drop it into the target box.
- Confirm the participant now appears in the new box.
- To view the written responses behind a rating, click the participant's avatar. A drawer opens with their manager's text responses.
- To view custom attributes and past review results, click the participant's name in the drawer.
- To filter the Calibration Table to show only participants in specific boxes, click the square in the upper-left corner of any Talent Matrix box. Select multiple boxes as needed.
Changes save automatically in real time. All rating changes appear in the Activity Feed at the bottom of the page.
If Something Goes Wrong

| Rating change is not reflected in another session | Check whether the participant appears in multiple sessions (a number badge appears on their avatar) | Changes sync automatically across all sessions — refresh the other session if the update is not visible |
Note: Changing a rating in the Talent Matrix applies the new answer to all manager reviews for that participant — including direct manager and additional manager reviews.
