Advanced Settings control which optional components are available when building any review cycle. Enabling a component here makes it available for inclusion — it does not activate it in every cycle automatically.
Before You Begin
- You must be an Account Admin.
- Best-Self Review® must be enabled on your account (available in Perform and Total Platform packages).
- Complete basic feature settings before configuring advanced components.
Steps
- Click the Settings gear in the bottom-left corner of your 15Five account.
- Select Features from the menu.
- Open the Best-Self Review® section.
- Scroll to the Advanced Settings area.
Enable Company Values
- Locate the Company Values toggle.
- Turn the toggle on to allow reviewers to assess values in future cycles.
Enable Objectives
- Locate the Objectives toggle.
- Turn the toggle on to make objectives available in review cycles.
- Select the default objective types to include: Company-wide, Group, and/or Individual.
Enable Performance Ratings+
- Locate the Performance Ratings+ toggle.
- Turn the toggle on to enable automated numerical performance score calculation.
- Set the default for who can see the rating.
- Set the default for whether additional manager reviews are included in the calculation.
- Click Save.
If Something Goes Wrong
| Issue | Check | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Advanced Settings section is not visible | Confirm your account has the Perform or Total Platform package | Contact 15Five support to verify package entitlements |
| Objective type checkboxes are grayed out | Confirm the Objectives toggle is turned on | Enable the Objectives toggle first, then select objective types |
| Performance Ratings+ defaults not saving | Confirm both visibility and additional manager fields have a selection | Select a value in both fields before saving |
| Changes appear not to apply to an active cycle | Advanced Settings apply to future cycles only | Changes take effect in the next cycle created after saving |
Not Covered Here
This article does not cover how to include objectives or ratings in a specific cycle — see cycle-level configuration articles for that.
