Use this article to create a self-development objective in 15Five. When complete, the objective appears on the All Objectives page and in your Check-ins.
Before You Begin
- Objectives must be enabled for your organization. See Enable or disable Objectives.
- To set visibility to Specific people, confirm your admin has enabled non-public visibility in Objectives settings. See Objectives settings overview (Admin).
Steps
- Go to Objectives in the left-hand navigation.
- Click Create a new objective.
- Enter a name for the objective.
- Select yourself as the objective owner.
- Under Who is this objective for?, select A person.
- Under What type of objective is this?, select Self-development.
- If the Tags field appears, select a tag or leave it blank.
- Tags appear only if Objectives tags are enabled in your company's Objectives settings.
- Enter a name for the key result.
- The objective will not save if the key result has no name.
- Select a measurement type for the key result:
- Percentage - Currency — for non-USD currencies, click ... > Other currency and select from the dropdown - Number - Completed / Not completed
- If the Jira integration is enabled, click Link to at the bottom right of the key result field to link to a Jira issue.
- Enter the objective's Start date and End date.
- If the Who can update and edit this objective? field appears, add any groups or individuals who should have edit access.
- This field appears only if the permissions option is enabled in your Objectives settings.
- Select a privacy setting:
- Public — visible to everyone in your organization - 15Five permissions — visible to anyone who can see your Check-ins - Specific people — visible to you, your direct manager, and anyone else you add; to keep it visible only to you and your direct manager, do not add any additional names
- Click Create objective.
The objective appears on the All Objectives page. If Check-ins are enabled for your organization, the objective also appears in your Check-ins.
