Enable and configure Demographic Attributes

Demographic Attributes let HR Admins report on employee trends across Birthdate, Ethnicity, Gender, Race, and Salary. Once enabled and populated, these attributes appear as filter dimensions in Engagement, Best-Self Review®, and Check-ins reporting.

Before You Begin

  • You must have the HR Admin role. Account Admins without the HR Admin role do not see the Demographic Attributes option.
  • Have 15Five's Master Subscription Agreement, Privacy Policy, and Data Processing Agreement available to review before you begin.

Steps

  1. Click Settings in the bottom corner of your 15Five account.
  2. Select Features from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click Features overview.
  4. Scroll to the People Attributes section.
  5. Toggle Demographic Attributes to On.
  6. Read the consent popup referencing 15Five's Master Subscription Agreement, Privacy Policy, and Data Processing Agreement.
  7. Check each required checkbox in the consent popup.
  8. Click Enable demographic data.
  9. Click Configure to the right of Demographic Attributes.
  10. Populate attribute values for your employees as needed.

> Where attributes appear after enablement: > - Engagement — Engagement Admins can filter results by demographic attributes (labeled "hidden groups"). > - Best-Self Review® — HR Admins can filter company review results by demographic attribute. > - Check-ins — HR Admins can filter the Submitted Check-ins and Reviewed Check-ins dashboards by demographic attribute.

If Something Goes Wrong

Issue Check Fix
Demographic Attributes toggle is not visible Confirm your role is HR Admin, not Account Admin only Ask your Account Admin to grant you the HR Admin role
Consent popup checkboxes are greyed out Confirm you have scrolled to read all consent text Scroll through the full consent text to unlock the checkboxes
Configure button does not appear after enabling Confirm the toggle saved successfully by refreshing the page Re-toggle to On and click Enable demographic data again
Attribute values are not reflected in Engagement filters Confirm attributes have been populated via Configure Return to Configure and save attribute values for the affected employees
