I can't edit my submitted peer review

The Edit review button is missing or unavailable on a submitted peer review.

Diagnose

Work through these checks in order to identify the cause.

Check 1: Manager viewed → Open the review. → If you see Request to edit review instead of Edit review, the participant's manager has already viewed your submission. → If you see neither button, continue to Check 2.

Check 2: Results shared → Ask the participant's manager whether results have been shared with the participant. → If yes, that is the cause. → If no, continue to Check 3.

Check 3: Cycle locked → Ask a review admin or cycle collaborator whether the review cycle is locked. → If yes, that is the cause.

Fix

Cause 1: Manager has already viewed the review

  1. Open the peer review.
  2. Click Request to edit review.
  3. Wait for the participant's manager to approve the request.
  4. Check your in-app notifications for approval confirmation.
  5. Open the review again and click Edit review.
  6. Make your changes, then click Resubmit.

Cause 2: Results have already been shared with the participant

  1. Contact the participant's manager and ask them to unshare the review results.
  2. After results are unshared, open the peer review and click Edit review.
  3. Make your changes, then click Resubmit.
  4. Ask the manager to re-share review results.

Cause 3: Review cycle is locked

  1. Contact a review admin or cycle collaborator and ask them to unlock the cycle.
  2. After the cycle is unlocked, open the peer review and click Edit review.
  3. Make your changes, then click Resubmit.

What Resolution Looks Like

After completing the steps for your cause, the peer review opens in edit mode. You can modify answers and the Resubmit button appears at the bottom of the page.

If It Still Fails

Contact 15Five Support. Include the following when you reach out:

  • Name of the review cycle
  • Name of the participant whose review you cannot edit
  • Screenshot of the review page showing the missing or unavailable button
  • Which check above identified the cause (or that none matched)

Not Covered Here

This article does not cover the standard peer review edit workflow when no blocking condition exists. See Complete a peer review for those steps.
