Why is the Share review button greyed out?

The Share review button appears greyed out and cannot be clicked on a review cycle participant's page.

Diagnose

Check: The "Start sharing on" milestone has not yet begun

→ How to check: Navigate to the participant's review page. Hover over or inspect the greyed-out Share review button. If the milestone has not started, the button will be inactive.

→ If true: The milestone date is in the future or has not been triggered. See Fix below.

→ If not: Contact 15Five Support with details — the milestone may have started but a permissions or data issue is blocking the button.

Fix

  1. Confirm you have a Review admin or Cycle collaborator role. Only these roles can edit milestone dates.
  2. Click Reviews in the left-hand navigation.
  3. Open the Review cycles tab and click the name of the relevant review cycle.
  4. Click Edit cycle settings.
  5. Locate the Start sharing on milestone field.
  6. Update the milestone date to today or a past date.
  7. Save the cycle settings.
  8. Return to the participant's review page and confirm Share review is now active.

What Resolution Looks Like

The Share review button appears in an active, clickable state at the bottom of the participant's Summary tab. You can click it without restriction.

If It Still Fails

Contact 15Five Support. Provide the following:

  • Review cycle name
  • Participant name
  • Current "Start sharing on" milestone date shown in cycle settings
  • Your role in the cycle (manager, review admin, or cycle collaborator)
  • A screenshot of the greyed-out button
