Understand Engagement Measurement on the HR Outcomes Dashboard

The HR Outcomes Dashboard surfaces engagement data alongside performance and turnover, giving HR leaders a single location to track trends, identify risk, and connect engagement signals to business outcomes. This article explains how the Engagement tile is populated and what data visualizations are available.

Note: Access to the HR Outcomes Dashboard is required to view Engagement insights. This feature is available on the Perform and Total Platform pricing packages.

Feature Structure

How the Engagement Tile Is Populated

The Engagement tile on the HR Outcomes Dashboard displays one of two metrics, determined automatically by system state:

  • Engagement Score — the organizational Engagement Score from your most recent engagement campaign. This is the preferred metric and displays whenever campaign data exists.
  • Average Pulse — the average Check-in Pulse score across all active users, using each user's most recent Pulse score from the past 31 days. This displays when no engagement campaign has been run.

The metric shown cannot be customized.

Key Rules

  • The Engagement tile always displays Engagement Score when campaign data is available; Pulse is shown only when no campaign has been run.
  • Campaign-specific visualizations (Top Performers and Engagement, Engagement Over Time, Top Performers and Pulse, Pulse Over Time) require at least one completed engagement campaign.
  • The engagement metric calculation cannot be changed or customized.
  • Organizations with the Compensation Add-on see additional engagement-compensation insights on the HR Outcomes Dashboard.
  • Access to the HR Outcomes Dashboard is controlled by role assignment.
