This article covers what changes for existing Kona customers when Meeting Assistant launches on October 8, 2026.
Summary of What Changed
- The Kona meeting bot, formerly Kona Meeting Assistant, is now called Kona Notetaker. It is the same product at the same pricing.
- Meeting Assistant is now available as an agent in the Agents Hub.
- Kona Notetaker is the recommended meeting source for Meeting Assistant.
- Starting Monday, October 12, 2026, admins at companies that use Kona Notetaker without Kona Coach can opt in to Meeting Assistant.
- Companies that opt in also get meeting prep for managers before their 1-on-1s, once they finish Meeting Assistant setup.
What Stayed the Same
- Nothing changes for existing Kona customers on October 8, 2026.
- Kona Notetaker keeps joining your 1-on-1s and taking notes.
- Until your company finishes Meeting Assistant setup, Kona's existing morning message continues. Meeting Assistant prep starts only after setup is finished.
- Kona settings keep their current labels.
- Your existing Kona notes and action items stay in your 1-on-1s, including after you opt in.
- Kona Coach customers keep their current experience until coaching is added to Meeting Assistant.
Execution Impact
Previous Behavior
- Admins managed Kona settings in the Kona settings area of 15Five.
New Behavior
- Until an admin opts in, Kona works exactly as it does today.
- When an admin opts in, setup opens with the company's Kona audience, join method, and calendar already filled in. The admin reviews each step and turns Meeting Assistant on.
- After opting in, admins manage settings from the Meeting Assistant card in the Agents Hub.
- After an admin finishes Meeting Assistant setup, managers receive one meeting prep message at 8am local time on days with covered 1-on-1s. Until then, managers keep Kona's existing morning message.
- Meeting prep does not need a Kona Notetaker seat.
Required Actions
No action required. Opting in is optional. Admins can opt in starting October 12, 2026.
Validation
- After October 8, 2026, confirm Kona Notetaker still joins your covered 1-on-1s.
- Confirm notes still appear in the 1-on-1 in 15Five.
- After an admin opts in, confirm the Meeting Assistant card in the Agents Hub shows the agent turned on.
