Kona Meeting Assistant automatically joins 1-on-1 meetings between a manager and their direct report in Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams to capture notes, identify action items, and surface performance data in the 15Five 1-on-1 workflow.
Required access: Kona add-on. Available on Perform and Total Platform pricing packages. Roles: Account Admins, Managers.
Feature Structure
Kona Meeting Assistant has two configuration layers:
- Admin setup — Enables Kona for the organization, assigns access to managers and/or HR admins, and sets the default join behavior (auto-join all eligible 1-on-1s, or let each manager decide).
- Manager setup — Each manager completes their own onboarding via a Flow of Work invite, connects their calendar, and (if the admin selected "Let managers decide") chooses which recurring 1-on-1s Kona should join.
Only 1-on-1 meetings between a manager and their direct report are eligible for Kona Meeting Assistant. Indirect-report 1-on-1s are not eligible.
What Kona Meeting Assistant Does

- Captures notes and action items in real time
- Delivers a post-meeting summary to the manager and direct report via email and/or Slack
- Writes captured notes and action items directly into the 15Five 1-on-1 Agenda
- Provides a continuous performance record to support review writing
Note: Kona does not record or store audio or video content. Meeting data is processed for note-taking purposes only. See Kona Meeting Assistant — Privacy, Security, and Data Handling FAQ for retention details.

Key Rules
- Kona requires a valid calendar integration on both the admin and manager accounts to detect and join meetings.
-
bot@15five.commust be included as an attendee in the calendar invite for Kona to join. - The meeting invite must contain a virtual meeting link (Zoom, Google Meet, or Teams).
- If a meeting starts late or is rescheduled, use the Send Kona to 1-on-1 button in the 1-on-1 in-app view or the Slack homepage.
- Notes and summaries are private to the manager and their direct report. HR admins cannot access 1-on-1 note content without manager consent.
- Kona accepts input in multiple languages, but all output — notes, feedback, action items, and summaries — is in English only. No account setting or user preference changes the output language.
- If no one joins the meeting, Kona leaves after approximately 12 minutes.
