Managers can add private notes to a direct report's Wins & Challenges tab directly from the employee's profile. The notes are visible only to the manager who adds them.
Before You Begin
- Your account must have access to Check-ins. Contact your admin if Check-ins are not visible in your navigation.
- Wins and challenges you add are private to you. Your direct report, account admins, and other managers cannot see them.
Steps
- Click your avatar in the bottom-left corner of 15Five.
- Click the My team tab.
- Find your direct report in the My team section.
- Click ... to the right of their name.
- Select View wins & challenges from the dropdown menu.
- Click Add a new note under the Wins or Challenges section.
- Type your note and save it.
If Something Goes Wrong
| Issue | Check | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| ... menu does not appear next to a direct report's name | Confirm the person reports directly to you in 15Five | Contact your admin to verify the reporting relationship |
| View wins & challenges option is not in the dropdown | Confirm Check-ins is enabled for your account | Ask your admin to enable Check-ins in account settings |
| Note does not save after clicking Add a new note | Check your internet connection | Reload the page and re-enter the note |
What Success Looks Like
After saving, the note appears in the Wins or Challenges section of the direct report's profile. It remains visible only to you the next time you return to this tab.
