Heatmap Report — Engagement Survey Results

The Heatmap Report displays engagement survey results as a color-coded grid. Survey statements appear as columns, groups appear as rows, and each cell reflects how a specific group responded to a specific statement.

Access requirements: HR Admin role with access to engagement survey results. Available on the Engage and Total Platform pricing packages.

Feature Structure

The Heatmap is organized around three axes:

  • Columns — individual survey statements, including custom questions
  • Rows — groups based on the selected group type (department, manager, location, or other demographic attributes)
  • Top row — organization-wide results displayed for comparison against all group rows

Color coding:

  • Blue — favorable or positive results
  • Orange — unfavorable or negative results
  • Darker shades — stronger trends or more extreme results

Cell detail: Click any cell to view additional context about that group's response to a specific statement, including response distribution (Unfavorable, Neutral, Favorable) and average response score.

Display Modes

The Heatmap supports four display modes. Switch between them using the display mode selector.

Mode What it shows
Average Response Average score on a 0–4 scale
Favorability % Percentage of favorable responses
Unfavorability % Percentage of unfavorable responses
Predictive Impact How strongly a statement influences engagement (driver surveys only)

Key Rules

  • All survey statement types are supported, including custom questions.
  • Statements from multiple surveys can be combined into a single Heatmap view.
  • Groups that do not meet your organization's confidentiality threshold do not appear in the Heatmap. See .
  • Predictive Impact display mode is available only for driver-based surveys.
  • Saved views retain selected statements and filters. Saving does not affect the underlying survey data.
