Clone an objective to carry its settings and key results into a new timeframe without overwriting existing progress. When complete, the cloned objective appears as a new draft in the Create a new objective form, pre-populated with the original's details.
Before You Begin
- Your account must have Objectives enabled. Available on Perform, Legacy Focus, and Total Platform packages.
- You must have permission to clone the target objective. See Who Can Clone Objectives below.
Steps
- Go to Objectives in the left-hand navigation.
- Use the filters at the top of the page to locate the objective you want to clone.
- Click the objective's name to open its details page.
- Click the gear icon in the objective's title box.
- Select Clone objective from the dropdown menu.
- Review the pre-populated fields in the Create a new objective form and make any edits needed.
- Click Create objective at the bottom of the screen.
What Success Looks Like
The cloned objective appears as a new objective in your Objectives Dashboard under the timeframe you selected during creation. The original objective remains unchanged.
Who Can Clone Objectives
- Account Admins — can clone any objective in the organization.
- Direct Managers — can clone objectives they own or that are owned by anyone in their direct report hierarchy.
- Employees — can clone only objectives they own.
If Something Goes Wrong
