Configure Smart Groups settings

Smart Groups creates manager-specific groups that automatically update as direct reports move between managers. These steps walk you through enabling Smart Groups and configuring its three sub-settings.

Before You Begin

  • You must be an Account admin.
  • Smart Groups is available on all pricing packages.

Steps

  1. Click Settings in the bottom corner of your 15Five account.
  2. Select Features from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click Features overview.
  4. Scroll to the Check-in section and locate Smart Groups.
  5. Toggle Smart Groups to On.
  6. Click Configure to the right of Smart Groups.
  7. On the Configure Smart Groups page, click the arrow next to a setting to expand it.
  8. To give admins full visibility into Smart Groups, expand Show all Smart Groups to admins and toggle it On.
  9. Click Save.
  10. To allow anyone to @mention a Smart Group in High Fives, expand @mentioning Smart Groups in High Fives and toggle it On.
  11. Click Save.
  12. To remove Smart Groups from appearing anywhere in 15Five, expand Disable Smart Groups and enable it.
  13. Click Save.

If Something Goes Wrong

Issue Check Fix
Configure button is not visible Confirm the Smart Groups toggle is set to On Enable Smart Groups before attempting to configure sub-settings
Sub-setting arrow does not expand Confirm you have Account admin access Log out and back in; contact your 15Five admin if the role is not assigned
Changes do not persist after saving Confirm you clicked Save after each individual setting change Re-open the sub-setting and click Save before navigating away
