Edit a key result

> Note: Your organization may have renamed this feature. If you don't see Objectives in your navigation, check with your admin for the name used in your account.

This article covers how to edit a key result's description, owner, metric type, and start/target values, and how to delete a key result. When complete, the key result reflects your changes and the objective saves successfully.

Before You Begin

  • You must have permission to edit the objective containing the key result. See Role-based permissions for Objectives for details.
  • Objectives must be available in your pricing package (Perform, Legacy Focus, or Total Platform).

Edit a key result

  1. Go to Objectives in the left-hand navigation.
  2. Use the filters at the top of the page to find the objective you want to update.
  3. Click the objective's name to open its details page.
  4. Click ... to the right of the key result you want to edit.
  5. Select Edit key result from the dropdown menu.

Edit the description

  1. Click the Description text field.
  2. Type your updated description.

Edit the owner

  1. Click the arrow to the right of the current owner's name.
  2. Select the new owner's name from the dropdown menu.

Edit the metric type and start/target values

  1. Select a new metric type from the available options.

- Click ... to expand additional metric options.

  1. Click Got it on the confirmation alert.

- This alert confirms that switching metric type may require you to update your target values and progress.

  1. Update the Start and Target fields to reflect the new values.

Delete a key result

  1. Click the grey X to the right of the key result you want to delete.
Important: An objective must have at least one key result to save. Deleting the only key result on an objective will prevent saving.

Save your changes

After completing any edits above:

  1. Click Save objectives at the bottom of the page.

The objective and key result reflect your changes immediately after saving.

If Something Goes Wrong
