Engagement Score and Engagement Level — Overview

The Engagement Score and Engagement Level show how connected, motivated, and focused employees feel at work. This article explains what the score measures, where it appears, and how to access results after a campaign closes.

Note: Engagement Score and Level are only available when a qualifying survey type is used.

Feature Structure

How the Score Works

The Engagement Score measures organizational engagement on a 0-100% scale calculated from 7 core survey statements. The score maps to 5 Engagement Levels from Disengaged to Extremely Engaged. See How the Engagement Score and Engagement Levels Are Calculated for the formula, worked example, and level definitions.

Where Engagement Score Appears

After a qualifying campaign closes, the Engagement Score is visible in:

  • Summary Report — available within engagement campaign results
  • Engagement Report — available within engagement campaign results
  • HR Outcomes Dashboard — available to organizations on the Total Platform plan; displays the score in the Engagement tile alongside performance, retention, and manager effectiveness data

Key Rules

  • Engagement Score and Level are only calculated for campaigns using one of the three qualifying survey types: Total Engagement, Engagement Score, or Engagement + Drivers.
  • Other survey types — including Manager Effectiveness, eNPS, and custom surveys — do not contribute to the Engagement Score.
  • Results visibility is controlled by permissions assigned to individual users. Not all admins see results by default.
  • The HR Outcomes Dashboard Engagement tile populates only for Total Platform plan customers.
