What is the difference between Meeting Assistant, Kona Notetaker, and Kona Coach?

This article explains how three related 15Five products differ.

Direct Answer

Kona Notetaker captures the meeting, Meeting Assistant turns it into 1-on-1 prep and notes, and Kona Coach coaches managers on how they show up.

Key Rules

  • Kona Notetaker is the bot that joins the meeting and captures it. It is visible in the call.
  • Kona Notetaker is a separately purchased add-on and the recommended meeting source for Meeting Assistant. It is the same meeting bot existing Kona customers use, under a new name, at the same pricing.
  • Meeting Assistant is an agent in the Agents Hub. Before a 1-on-1, it sends the manager prep. After the meeting, it writes notes and suggested actions into the 1-on-1.
  • Meeting Assistant needs a meeting source: Kona Notetaker or Google Meet transcripts.
  • Kona Coach is a paid add-on that coaches managers on specific manager behaviors. It is not part of Meeting Assistant.
  • Kona Coach tips come only from Kona Notetaker. Google Meet transcripts give notes and action items, but not Kona Coach tips.
  • Kona Coach customers keep their current experience until coaching is added to the Agents Hub.
  • Meeting prep is different from a Focus Brief. A Focus Brief covers what to care about this week. Meeting prep covers what to discuss in one 1-on-1.

Common Misunderstanding

Kona Notetaker is not being replaced. It is the recommended meeting source for Meeting Assistant.
