What it Measures: HR Outcomes

The Dashboard tab helps you track the three core outcomes that matter most to business success: Engagement, Performance, and Turnover. These outcomes form the foundation of strategic HR because they reflect how your people feel, perform, and stay with your organization. When analyzed together, they tell a powerful story about workforce health and help you align people strategy with business outcomes.

Use the dropdowns below to learn more about what each of these outcomes means, how it's measured, and why it matters.

Engagement 🎯

Engagement is the emotional commitment and passion that an employee has toward their work and their employer. It's demonstrated by their willingness to put in discretionary effort—going above and beyond their basic job requirements to help the organization succeed.

In the dashboard
Engagement is measured through employee surveys (Engagement Campaigns or Pulse Check-ins) that assess how employees feel about their role, their manager, their growth opportunities, and the company's direction. Learn more →

Why it matters
Engaged employees are more productive, innovative, and loyal. They’re the ones who go the extra mile, advocate for the company, and contribute to a positive culture. On the flip side, disengagement can be an early warning sign of burnout, turnover, or performance issues.

Performance 🚀

Performance represents how employees are evaluated in your organization’s formal review processes. It reflects the extent to which individuals meet or exceed expectations, contribute to business goals, and demonstrate role-specific competencies or behaviors.

In the dashboard
Performance designations are derived from review cycle ratings and completion of objectives (OKRs). You can analyze how performance trends vary across teams, departments, tenure, or demographics. Learn more →

Why it matters
High-performing teams drive business results. Performance data helps you identify top talent, underperformance risks, and opportunities for development or recognition.

Turnover 🔄

Turnover measures the rate at which employees leave your organization.

In the dashboard
The Turnover tile is populated based on termination data, which you can add to 15Five via an HRIS or bulk import CSV. You can analyze how turnover is trending from month to month.

Why it matters
Turnover affects productivity, morale, and costs. High or uneven turnover rates often signal cultural, leadership, or workload issues that need intervention.

Use the Dashboard Tab 👩‍💻

The Dashboard tab is made up of three core components—Filters, Outcome Tiles, and Data Insights—each designed to help you explore trends, drill into key people metrics, and uncover actionable insights. Together, these tools give you a strategic lens into how your people are doing and where to focus your efforts for maximum impact.

Let’s take a closer look at how to use each part of the Dashboard tab effectively.

Filters 🔍

By default, the HR Outcomes Dashboard contains information for your entire company. At the top of the Dashboard tab, you’ll find filters that let you refine results by Groups (e.g., manager teams, departments), Atrributes (e.g., tenure, gender), and Outcomes (e.g., high performers, disengaged employees). Learn more about available filters →

💡

Tip

Apply filters to view outcome data for specific employee segments, helping you pinpoint where support is most needed. Look for concerning trends or significant changes—especially within critical groups like top performers or high-potential employees.

Outcomes Tiles 📊

The Outcome tiles are the centerpiece of the Dashboard tab, giving you a high-level snapshot of your organization’s health across three core HR outcomes: Engagement, Performance, and Turnover.

Each tile displays your most recent outcome score and visualizes key trends through charts and breakdowns. These tiles help you quickly assess whether your people are engaged, performing, and staying—and whether those trends are improving or need attention.

Outcome-Tiles.png

Outcome tiles also include a direct link to explore more detailed reporting. These links take you beyond the snapshot to diagnose what's driving your outcome scores and where to focus.

Explore-This-Data.png

  • Engagement: Click "Explore latest campaign" to jump into results from your more recent engagement campaign. You’ll be able to review key drivers, heatmaps, and suggested actions based on how employees responded. Learn more about engagement campaign reporting →
  • Performance: Click "Explore this data" to access the Performance Designation Report, where you can see a breakdown of top, mid, and bottom performers across roles, departments, and managers.
  • Turnover: Click "Explore this data" to view the Performance & Turnover Insight, which shows you how turnover trends compare across performance tiers. This can reveal whether you're losing high performers or at-risk talent segments.
💡

Tip

These tiles are your launchpad for deeper analysis and action planning. Combined with filters and data insights, they help you move from observation to informed, strategic decisions.

Data Insights 📈

Data insights help you analyze and compare trends across Engagement, Performance, and Turnover. Use them to explore how these metrics intersect. For example, you can analyze how turnover varies by performance level or how engagement scores differ between top and bottom performers. These insights help you move from what’s happening to why it’s happening. Learn more about the available data insights →
