✏️

Note

Scores on the HR Outcomes Dashboard are calculated based on your selected configuration settings. Check out our "Configure the HR Outcomes Dashboard" Help Center article for information and steps on how to configure outcomes scores.

Use the Summary tab

The Summary tab contains the latest measured metric for outcomes: Manager Effectiveness, Engagement, Performance, and Turnover. In this tab, you can also view suggested actions to drive outcomes and explore how outcomes impact one another.

Filter

By default, the HR Outcomes Dashboard contains information for your entire company. The filter at the top of the page allows you to see results for a specific cohort.

HR-Outcomes-Latest-Filter.png

Click into the filter and select the cohort you want to filter by. Filter by hierarchy to see outcomes data for specific manager's teams or by group to see outcomes data for specific groups.

Outcome scorecards

Below the filter, you'll see the outcome scorecards, which contain the latest scores for Manager Effectiveness, Engagement, Performance, and Turnover.

These scores are calculated based on the configurations you have set up for each outcome. Read more about what data is used to calculate your scores and how to configure score calculations.

✏️

Note

If your organization doesn't yet have data for outcome scores, the scorecards will display in a default empty state. As you collect relevant data in 15Five, the scores will become more accurate and actionable.

  1. Look at an outcome's scorecard to see the primary metric used to measure the outcome. Below the score, you can see the last time data was synced and the score was calculated.
    HROD-Last-Sync.png
  2. The bottom part of the scorecard contains additional information related to the outcome.
    • Manager Effectiveness contains the percentage the manager effectiveness indicator score falls into related to other 15Five customers. Click managers in the highest indicator range to open the 'Compare' tab of the Manager Effectiveness Indicator and see a breakdown of which managers fall into different MEI ranges.
    • Engagement contains the percentage the engagement score falls into related to other 15Five customers and the average Pulse score across your entire company over the last 31 days. Click avg Pulse in Check-ins to open the Pulse Dashboard.
    • Performance contains the percentage the performance score falls into related to other 15Five customers and the secondary metric you selected during outcome configuration (if you selected one).
    • Turnover does not contain anything in the bottom section of its scorecard, as we only provide one way to measure turnover. Click on employees turned over to open the "Turnover details" box, which contains powerful context about individual people who have turned over.
Insights

Below the outcome scorecards, you'll find "Hot Spots" — recommended themes that you can focus on to have the biggest impact on outcomes performance in your organization. You can view all recommended themes in the Insights tab of the Outcomes Dashboard.

Insights-Highlights.png

  • Click Take action with managers to see which managers are referenced in the data contained in the Hot Spot card. Focusing actions on these managers will have the biggest impact on improving outcomes.

The options you can drill down into are:
    • Manager Effectiveness (X-axis) & Engagement (Y-axis)
    • Manager Effectiveness (X-axis) & Performance (Y-axis)
    • Performance (X-axis) & Engagement (Y-axis).
  2. The Y-axis legend at the bottom of the graph shows which cohorts the colors in the bar represent.

  3. Look to the right of a bar to see how many managers fall into the score range.
    #-Of-Managers.png
  4. Click on a bar in the graph to open a detailed table below the graph that shows the managers in the cohort and the details of the outcomes across their teams. For example— if you click into the "41-60" bar in the Manager Effectiveness and Engagement report in the example below, the table contains the 1 manager (with 6 direct reports) whose manager effectiveness indicator score falls between 41-60%.

Your company-level outcome scores appear top row to give you a benchmark for the organization. This allows you to see what teams are falling below the average and may need more attention.
    💡

    Tip

As you use 'Explore Outcomes' to compare outcomes performance amongst manager teams and see the relationship between outcomes, ask yourself— how engaged are my top performers? How many of them have turned over recently? Are their managers effective? Use this section of the HR Outcomes Dashboard to develop and test hypotheses (e.g. "I expect that effective managers have engaged teams." "I expect more engaged people to perform more highly."), and use the data gathered to inform data-driven initiatives.

  5. Drill down into results for specific hierarchies, managers, or group types (the groups contained in each group type your organization has created), using the filter at the very top of the dashboard.
    Compare-By-Filter.png
  6. From within this detailed table, click the arrow to the right of a manager's name to display a side sheet that shows more information about the manager, including their scores for each outcome, their span of control (number of direct reports), and their span of influence (total number of people below them in their hierarchy).

Use the Breakdown tab

The Breakdown tab allows you to compare outcomes performance by manager, outcome, or group type. Slice and dice the data, and have all the outcomes visible. Company data is contained in the top row so you can compare cohorts to your company average.

Filter

By default, the HR Outcomes Dashboard contains information for your entire company. Use the filter at the very top of the page to filter results.

Compare-By-Filter.png

Filtering options are:

  • By direct reports (i.e. by manager's team)
  • By hierarchy (i.e. all managers that are in a specific manager's reporting line)
  • By group type (i.e. the groups contained in each group type your organization has created)
Table

The table in the 'Breakdown' tab contains columns for each cohort that match your selected filters. It also contains the following rows:

  • Manager Effectiveness Score
  • Engagement Score
  • Talent Matrix Distribution
  • Turnover Score

All-Data-Table.png

  1. Click the arrow to the left of a cohort name to show a snapshot of managers within that cohort
    Manager-Breaskdown-All-Data.png
  2. Once you've opened the manager snapshot, click the arrow to the far right to open the manager details side sheet that shows more information about the manager, including their scores for each outcome, their span of control (number of direct reports), and their span of influence (total number of people below them in their hierarchy).

Use the Insights tab

The Insights tab contains recommended themes that you can focus on to improve outcomes in your organization.

To provide Insights, we look at Signals (specific data points from throughout the 15Five platform that impact HR outcomes in meaningful ways) and identify themes proven to positively impact outcomes. This makes it easier for HR leaders to quickly understand and absorb the data without getting lost in granular details.

For example, your organization may be working to improve employee performance, but need help deciding where specifically to focus for maximum impact. Insights provide a clear path forward for improving outcomes so you can spend less time deciding “What data is important?" or "Where should I lean in?” and more time taking action.

Filter

By default, the Insights tab contains all recommendations to drive outcomes performance in your organization, but you can apply filters to access the specific recommendations you want to see.

  • Use the "Filter by" filter to view recommendations specific to a single outcome (Manager Effectiveness, Performance, Engagement, or Turnover) or Theme (Productivity, Feedback, Goals, Career Growth, or Teamwork).
    Insights-Filter-By-Filter.png
  • Use the "Groups" filter to view recommendations for specific managers or groups.
    Insights-Groups-Filter.png
  • Check the box next to Show only Hot Spots to filter the Insights tab to only show "Hot Spot" recommendations (i.e. the recommendations that will have the biggest impact on outcomes performance in your organization).

Insight cards

Insights are recommended themes, customized based on your organization's data from across 15Five, that you can focus on to improve outcomes.

Hot-Spot-Card.png

Each Insight card contains a recommended theme, the date on which the insight was generated, and the 15Five data that explains why 15Five recommended this insight for your organization. Some Insights will be labeled as Hot Spots, indicating that they will have the biggest impact on outcomes performance in your organization.

  • Click Take action with managers to see which managers are referenced in the data contained in the Insight card. Focusing actions on these managers will have the biggest impact on improving outcomes.

  • Click Download recommended actions to open a playbook containing theme-specific actions you can take in 15Five to improve outcomes.
