The PMA Question Details page contains three sub-reports for analyzing individual Private Manager Assessment questions. Each report surfaces a different view: distribution of responses, comparison across groups, or change over time.
Before You Begin
- You must be on the PMA Question Details page. To get there, open a review cycle's results, scroll to the Private Manager Assessment Results section, click the three dots next to a question, and select View all answers.
- To use Trends Over Time across all participants, you must be a review admin or cycle collaborator for every selected cycle.
Steps
Answer Distribution
Use Answer Distribution to see how responses are spread across participants and examine individual results.
- On the Question Details page, select the Answer Distribution tab.
- Use the Groups filter to focus on a specific hierarchy or department.
- Use the Review cycles filter to select one or more cycles.
- Use the Answer filter to isolate a specific response option.
- Review the bar chart to see the percentage of employees who received each response.
- Click any answer segment in the bar chart to filter the Individuals table to that response.
- Review the Individuals table — each row shows participant name, review writer, answer received, and submission date.
Compare Groups
Use Compare Groups to break down responses across manager teams, hierarchies, or group types.
- On the Question Details page, select the Compare Groups tab.
- Use the Groups filter to focus on a specific hierarchy or department.
- Use the Review cycles filter to select one or more cycles.
- Use the Answer filter to isolate a specific response option.
- Use the View by filter to group results by Manager, Hierarchy, or Group type.
- Use the Sort by filter to sort results alphabetically or by positivity of responses.
- Review the bar chart — each bar shows the percentage of a group that received each answer option.
- Hover over any color segment to see the exact count of people who received that response.
- Review the Individuals table to see each participant's name and how their manager answered the question.
- Click any column header in the Individuals table to sort results.
Trends Over Time
Use Trends Over Time to track how responses to a question shift across multiple review cycles.
- On the Question Details page, select the Trends Over Time tab.
- Use the Review cycles filter to select two or more cycles to compare.
- Use the Groups filter to focus on a specific hierarchy or department.
- Use the Answer filter to isolate a specific response option.
- Review the line chart — each point represents one review cycle.
- Hover over any point on the line to see the full answer distribution for that cycle.
- Review the Individuals table to see each participant and the answer they received per cycle.
- If a participant was reviewed in multiple cycles, they appear once per cycle in the table.
- Click any column header in the Individuals table to sort results.
If Something Goes Wrong
