This article covers how to create a Manager Effectiveness engagement survey campaign in 15Five. When complete, the campaign is scheduled and confirmed — ready to launch at the configured start date and time.
Before You Begin
- You must have Organization Admin access to create an engagement campaign.
- The Manager Effectiveness engagement survey is available on the Total Platform pricing package.
- To understand what competencies the survey measures, see What competencies does the Manager Effectiveness Assessment measure?
Steps
- Go to Surveys > Engagement in the left-hand navigation.
- Click Create campaign in the Campaigns section.
- Review the default survey grouping added to your campaign.
- The Total Engagement grouping is added by default and includes the Manager Effectiveness survey. - To run a manager effectiveness survey only, or to add its eight statements to a different campaign, continue to step 4. - To keep the default grouping and proceed, skip to step 6.
- Click Add Survey.
- Select Manager Effectiveness Survey from the survey list on the right side of the screen.
- Enter a name for your campaign in the campaign name field.
- In the Who do you want to participate section, select your audience:
- All employees — every active employee receives the survey. - Specific groups — only members of selected groups receive the survey.
- Exclude any employees by hire date or name if needed.
- Note: New employees are automatically included in the campaign up until the start date.
- Click View participants on the right to confirm who will receive the survey.
- Select a feedback filter to set the group type used to view open-ended question responses.
- Set the Start Date and End Date using the date and time fields.
- Choose a Repeat setting:
- Select Do not repeat to run the campaign once. - Select a repeat interval (default is every 90 days) to run the campaign on a schedule. - Note: When a recurring campaign ends, 15Five automatically creates the next one. To stop future recurrences, see .
- Select one or more Notification Type options: Email, SMS, or Slack.
- Review the Notification Schedule.
- The system adds five default notification dates when you set the start date. Only non-respondents receive reminders after the first notification. - To add a notification, click Add notification and set your desired date and time. - To verify deliverability, click Send test notification. See Test the deliverability of engagement campaign notifications.
- Click Confirm campaign at the top of the page.
- Review the confirmation prompt, then click Confirm campaign to finalize.
What Completion Looks Like
After clicking Confirm campaign, the campaign appears in the Campaigns list with a scheduled status. The campaign launches automatically at the configured start date and time.
If Something Goes Wrong
| Issue | Check | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Manager Effectiveness Survey not visible in the survey list | Confirm your account is on the Total Platform pricing package | Contact your 15Five account manager to verify package access |
| MEI scoring does not generate a value after survey closes | Confirm the campaign received at least 5 responses | Resend the survey or extend the campaign — see Extend an engagement campaign |
| Notification not delivered to participants | Run a test notification before the campaign launches | Click Send test notification — see Test the deliverability of engagement campaign notifications |
| Campaign launched before intended date | Check the start date and time entered in step 11 | If the campaign has not yet sent, delete it and recreate with the correct start date |
