Managers use this article to access and read upward reviews submitted about their direct reports during an active performance review cycle. When complete, the Upward tab for a participant will show all submitted upward reviews.
> Note: Your organization may have renamed this feature. If you don't see "Best-Self Review®" in your navigation, check with your admin for the name used in your account.
Before You Begin
- Upward reviews must be included in the review cycle. If the Upward tab does not appear for a participant, upward reviews are not configured for that cycle.
- Review results must not yet be shared with the participant. Once results are shared, feedback cannot be removed from upward reviews.
- To remove non-constructive feedback before sharing, your account settings must grant managers removal permission. See for details.
Steps
- Go to Reviews in the left navigation.
- Click the name of the active review cycle under Active review cycles.
- Click My team at the top of the cycle's Overview page.
- If you have no additional review cycle role, My team is already selected.
- Scroll to the Cycle participants section.
- Click a direct report's name to open their review results.
- Alternatively, click ... to the right of their name and select View.
- Click the Upward tab.
- Review each submitted upward review.
- If upward reviews are hidden from the participant, a yellow notice appears at the top of the tab. Include relevant feedback in your review summary instead. - If you have removal permission, click ... to the right of any answer to select Remove from shared results or Allow editing.
- Use the upward review content to inform your review summary.
- Complete and share the review summary with your direct report.
