Access and use the Pulse Dashboard

The Pulse Dashboard surfaces employee sentiment data collected via the Pulse question in Check-ins: "How did you feel at work since your last Check-in?" It displays morale trends across individuals, teams, and the organization using four report tables and three filters. Access the Pulse Dashboard from the Insights Dashboard or Reports.

Access required: Check-ins and Reporting access. Available on Perform, Legacy Focus, and Total Platform pricing packages.

Feature Structure

Filters

Three filters appear at the top of the Pulse Dashboard. All filters can be combined.

People

Segments the data by person or organizational structure. Options:

  • By your org — your direct reports and reporting hierarchy
  • By individuals — all employees across the organization
  • By direct reports — Pulse data for a specific manager's direct reports
  • By hierarchy — Pulse data for all employees reporting up to a specific person
  • By group — Pulse data for all employees within a specific group, organized by group type

Check-in frequency

Filters data to show only Pulse scores from Check-ins submitted on a specific cadence: weekly, every other week, or monthly.

Time frame

Restricts the data to a specific date range. Preset options: last month, last 3 months, last 6 months, last 12 months. A custom date range is also available.

Include active Check-in data

A checkbox below the filters. When checked, the dashboard includes submitted Check-ins from the current Check-in period in all reports.

Average Pulse

Displays the trend of Pulse scores across the selected group or company over time. This is the first section visible on the dashboard.

Pulse Answers

Displays the distribution of Pulse scores submitted during the selected time period.

To view Pulse scores and any optional written comments together, click See Pulse answers below the graph. Comments are only visible for employees whose Check-ins you have permission to view.

Clicking See Pulse answers opens a page with two tabs:

  • Answers — all Pulse scores and optional comments you have permission to view. Filterable by Pulse score, people or groups, Check-in frequency, and time frame.
  • Metrics — Pulse answers by individual, with additional data points: direct manager, average Pulse score, last Pulse score, submitted Check-ins %, reviewed Check-ins %, Check-in due day, Check-in frequency, and last active date in 15Five. Filterable by people or groups, Check-in frequency, and time frame.

Individual Metrics

Displays average Pulse scores by person. Use the Highest and Lowest tabs to identify individuals with the highest and lowest scores.

Clicking See individual metrics navigates to the Pulse Answers: Metrics report, filtered by individual.

Group Metrics

Displays average Pulse scores by group. Use the Highest and Lowest tabs to identify groups with the highest and lowest scores.

Clicking See group metrics navigates to the Pulse Answers: Metrics report, filtered by group.

Key Rules

  • The Pulse Dashboard is available to account admins only, or to everyone in the organization following standard 15Five Check-in view permissions — this setting is controlled by an admin.
  • Pulse comments are only visible to users who have permission to view the submitting employee's Check-in. Dashboard access does not grant comment visibility independently.
  • The Include active Check-in data checkbox must be selected to include the current Check-in period in reports. It is not included by default.
