The Audit Log records security events that occur during a review cycle, including adding or removing participants and admins. Downloading it shows each event, the person who performed it, and the date and time it occurred.
Before You Begin
- You must be a Review admin or Cycle collaborator. Managers cannot access the Audit Log.
- The review cycle must have passed its start date.
- Access requires the Best-Self Review® Reporting feature, available on Perform and Total Platform pricing packages.
Steps
- Click Reviews in the left-hand navigation.
- Click the name of the review cycle you want to access.
- Click the Settings gear icon in the top right corner of the page.
- Select Audit log from the dropdown menu.
- Review the on-screen log for the events you want to examine.
- Click Download to export the log as a file.
What the Report Contains
Each row in the downloaded file includes three fields:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Event | The security action that occurred |
| Actor | The person who performed the action |
| Date and Time | When the action occurred |
The report updates as new security events occur until the cycle is locked.
If Something Goes Wrong
| Issue | Check | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Settings gear is not visible | Confirm your role is Review admin or Cycle collaborator | Ask your Review admin to update your cycle role |
| Audit log option does not appear in the dropdown | Confirm the cycle start date has passed | Wait until the cycle start date, then retry |
| Download produces an empty file | Confirm at least one security event has occurred in the cycle | No fix needed — the log is empty because no tracked events have occurred yet |
