Objectives / OKRs: Overview

Objectives (also called OKRs) let employees, managers, and admins create, track, and align goals across individuals, teams, and the organization. Key results measure progress toward each objective. Admins control availability, naming, permissions, and visibility settings. Managers and employees create and update objectives within those configured boundaries.

Note: Admins can rename the Objectives feature. Your account may display a different name than "Objectives."

Key Rules

  • Admins must enable Objectives before anyone can create or view them.
  • Visibility settings control who can see each objective — options range from private to organization-wide.
  • Key results can be assigned to a person other than the objective owner.
  • Objectives can be linked to external tools, including Jira Cloud and Salesforce, at the key result level.
  • Only users with granted editing access can modify an objective they do not own.
  • For details on who can view objectives based on privacy settings and roles, see Who can see objectives in 15Five?.
